Ouachita County Medical Center is accepting applications for a Medical Transcriptionist for Full Time.

This is a full time, in facility position.

Responsibilities: Convert medical staff professionals' dictation into written reports. Interpret medical terminology and abbreviations in patients’ medical records. Other duties include:

  • Complete all transcription and clerical tasks while maintaining accuracy. 
  • Ensure correct spelling, and grammatical and punctuation style
  • Recognize inaccuracies in medical dictation and work with the appropriate parties to correct
  • Provide requested information to medical staff

Must Possess High School Diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited program in medical transcription. Medical transcription experience is preferred.

The applicant must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to perform well individually and within group settings, have the ability to handle situations professionally and accurately, and must be able to provide care with courtesy, friendliness and respect.
